The story of Photomath begins at home. Damir Sabol, founder of Photomath and father of three, was helping his teenage son with his math homework one evening.
Read moreAs an engineer, Damir received substantial math training but he still frequently had trouble figuring out the best way to explain math concepts and solutions to his son in a way that he would truly understand them. Moreover, some of the concepts were ones he’d learned decades ago.
And so, out of Damir’s personal frustration, Photomath was born.
Photomath assists parents who want to help their children but who struggle with recalling concepts or are unfamiliar with new instructional approaches used in classrooms.
Photomath aims to maximize comprehension of core math concepts learned in the classroom. To achieve this, Photomath has a dedicated in-house R&D team of veteran math teachers who research the most effective, contemporary teaching methodologies, develop frameworks for solving math problems, and test and apply these frameworks in live classrooms.

For years, Katie hired private math tutors for more than $100/hour. In addition to being painfully expensive, these tutors often didn't utilize a teaching style that resonated with her kids. Her youngest in particular has an independent spirit and struggled with the didactic approach of several tutors.
Katie's kids now rely on Photomath when they need help understanding their math homework. The step-by-step explanations are ideal for self-paced learning, and Katie saves hundreds of dollars each month.

When Albert's kids have questions from their math homework, they turn to him for help. Unfortunately, it's been decades since Albert learned this material, which makes it difficult to provide explanations with confidence.
Using Photomath, Albert easily and reliably supports his kids across a wide range of math topics. He checks their homework for accuracy while using the step-by-step explanations to clarify concepts and improve their independent problem-solving abilities.

I use this app to help my son with his homework. As he moves up in grade levels his homework is becoming more challenging for us both. This app allows me to check his work and make sure he is doing it correctly. If he misses one we can address it immediately by figuring out what he did wrong and teaching him to do it right. I highly recommend this app to any parent wanting to help their child succeed in school.

I struggled badly with math and now I am parent responsible for helping my son through early algebra and geomentry. It not only helps me find solutions but allows me to teach my son how to work it out. I wish I had this 25 years ago.

I was never good in math in school, and one of my biggest fears as a parent was passing that trait on to my own kids. I want my kids to look at math differently than I did, but as they got older, it got harder for me to help them. This app is LITERALLY a life saver. We use it as a tool, not as a cheat, and it is amazing!
